Traveler is an off the track thoroughbred, 16.1 hands, 12 years old. She arrived to LEARN with Whisper (the paint shown above) and was extremely thin. Traveler is very bright and has that incredible racehorse heart. She has been ridden some and been very well behaved, but she does need to learn to use her brakes – not as in flip out and run off with someone, just more like all she knows is run. Traveler is very well behaved on the ground too and will stand for the farrier, vet, dentist, etc. She’s personable and easy to handle and would make an AMAZING hunter prospect with some training.

I am doing the same thing with my ex race. Duke is 9 and I had NO IDEA what I was doing/ getting into, but haven’t given up and today was the first day I rode him thru the neighborhood. Took one year of down time and about 5 hours of serious training to get him to slow down.
( Plus allot of ….I have to do what?? THAT was never in a book!)
