“Registered Palomino Mare 3yr old Had a first colt, its a good breeding mare, gentle, you can walk to her and she won’t run, you can ride her because we saddled it for 3months asking for $400 any questions “
It’s sad that this is a legitimate question but here goes anyways: Do they mean that they left the saddle on for 3 months or that she has 3 months of training under saddle? I love that “you can walk to her and she won’t run” – now that’s a mark of a good horse! Perhaps “run” should actually read “flee in terror”. But then I’d question the mental stability of the horse because clearly she should be fleeing in terror!
Also, why is she all of a sudden “it”? What, they couldn’t pretend to care about “Horse” any longer?

I hope that’s not a chunk missing out of her right front – hard to see in the pic
Pretty sure that’s the weed in front of the hoof (dear god I hope so)…
My thought as well!
If you look at the shadow its the hoof
more troubling is the fact that she has already had a foal at three years old…
I also find it concerning that a 3 year old already had a colt. She hasn’t finished growing but she’s a good breeding mare, proven once when bred at 2 years old (or at least we hope it’s two and now a yearling).
Not… not “now”
Good thing about d’em light coloured horses- Can’t see the sign of an incorrect saddle resulting in white hairs.
A+++

Oh punctuation, you make me smile.

Hahaha! Love it! Stop clubbing, baby seals! Those damn party animals!
so they are not good at punctuation or sentence structure.
Perhaps the mare -( no longer a filly), got loose and was bred accidently.
I was not there. Shew is in good flesh- and she is sound -hopefully. And you can see white hairs on a palomino horse.
Many qh folks do start colts and fillies at 2- and will continue to and show them as 3 yrs olds- so deal with that, ok. I don’t but MANY do.
Snarky is not an excuse for the bitchiness and over all up one ship many of you think you have.
Just because everyone does it, doesn’t make it right for the horse. “Deal with it” is not a very compASSionate attitude. Let me guess, you say “deal with it” to horse slaughter, soring TWH, tying the head/neck up of Western Pleasure horses, the images of 18 mo. old babies on 18mo. old “mares” & other sorts of despicable methods & goings on in the equine world. Last time I checked 3 year olds are still considered fillies.
Who told you you had any common sense?
Does it bother you that your user name is a prime example of the attitude you deplore?
Because it should…
This!
Why is it that people think being a “proven” breeding animal means it has successfully procreated? I always thought “proven” meant that the damn horse had accomplished something and/or its offspring had. Am I wrong?
No, you’re right. They’re just idiots…
I would say she needs some hoof work. With a chip/crack like that it’s a wonder she’s not lame.
Do you think owners like these, could spot a lame horse, even if it bit them right where it counts?
There is a growing trend to breed young mares, those of the stock breeds.. A friend of mine decided to breed her 2 yr old (may have been 18 mths), since she couldn’t start breaking her to ride till she was 3 or 4. She DID breed her, and when she had her ultrasounded.. she came up with nothing, she then sold her, and lo and behold she was preggers and dumped a filly on the ground to the new owners, several states away.
THE only (if you can even say that- is the mare was registered, the sire was registered, the DNA was sent in, stallion report was sent in so the filly could be registered if the new owners chose to)… sad that…
The trend goes to…. Well they might as well do something useful, while they stand there till they are “growed” enuf to ride. Its a horrible trend, and it does nothing to alleviate the horse over population, and does TONS to wreck young female horses…
